Most smoothing treatments contain chemicals and the levels and types of them can vary depending on the treatment chosen.
Most treatments out now say they are formaldehyde free, which is true to an extent.
The product itself is free of formaldehyde, however, as we flat iron to seal the treatment into the hair, the fumes and vapors can release harmful chemicals, which is why we use what's called a Source Capture System.
This machine is designed to protect the breathing zones of hair stylists and clients and prevent overexposure to formaldehyde fumes and harsh vapors.
